Each of us comes up with a ridiculous fantasy character name, then we illustrate each other's names. You can see Liam's entries here.

The main goal behind the exercise is to improve our drawing and tablet skills, as well as to experiment with Manga Studio which, due to its speed and and a couple key features, is becoming one of my favourite graphics apps.

I first learned of Manga Studio from a tutorial by the illustrator Ray Frenden. His inking skills are way above me at this point. In the video you can see Manga Studio's fluidity in action, but the big thing for me is being able to rotate the page as you're drawing. Saves me from the breakdancing contortions I used have to do to get a stroke at just the right angle.

Mundo Geriwurlitzer

When I awoke this morning it was very misty. The mist may have clouded my perception, but I could have sworn that a wizard walked by. I mean, all the signs were there; tinkling bell, funny clothes, worrying demons. I tried getting his attention but he ignored me and just kept walking, spreading something indistinguishable. Frankly, I thought he was a bit of an asshole.

That is all; really a non-event, all told.

Late Fees

Hey English!

If the bearcat were to convince me to “leave my home” I would join the ranks of thousands of homeless, thus putting unnecessary strain on an already stressed charitable organization network.

I don’t need the kind of sound that I “couldn’t leave alone”. I have enough distractions.

I don’t have the room for a bearcat of my own. Plus, I already have two cats. I don’t think they’re compatible.

The line “George Washington” is a non sequitur used to distract from the bearcat’s true larcenous intentions, or possibly some sort of bearcat-to-bearcat (B2B) codeword.

I don’t really want my backbone to slip, opening the door to further degenerative spinal afflictions, such as Sciatica and Spondylosis.

Despite the fact that the bearcat is “lookin’ for me”, I hope my general attitude will be enough to convince him to look elsewhere.

Squish, a Squid

Rawwwwr! Everyone thinks he’s useless and doubts his ability to succeed on this quest he’s planning. Anyway, the end is this scene where the <s>sorcerer</s> minotaur is about to steal the Sceptre of Power and the hero guy (who we find out is some sort of “chosen one”) is laying wounded and semi-concious. Just then he notices a kestrel perched nearby. He summons the kestrel to swoop down and retrieve the sceptre. But alas; he can’t control kestrels. Just pigeons, grouse, quails, doves, and woodcocks.

Tornado Advice

If you find yourself in a car during a tornado, the best thing to do is quickly drive around in smallish circles.
